■ 원인

머릿니 감염으로 인한 이 기생충증을 Pediculosis capitis 또는 두슬증이라 한다. 머리에 기생하는 이를 머릿니, 머릿이 또는 머리이 라고 한다.
영어로 이를 lice(단수) 또는 louse(복수)라고 한다.
머릿니는 특히 귀와 목덜미의 바로 위 부위에 있는 두피에 가장 많이 기생한다.

■ 증상

가려운 증상 징후가 생길 수 있다. 때로는 아무 증상 징후가 없을 수 있다.
머릿니에 감염된 두피에 2차 박테리아 감염이 생길 수 있고 그 주위에 있는 림프절 반응적 비대가 생길 수 있다.

■ 진단

머리카락에 붙어 있는 이 알(서캐), 약충, 머릿니를 육안으로 보고 진단할 수 있다.
잠복기는 6~10일이다.

■ 치료

머릿니 감염증은 1% 린데인(Lindane) 성분이 든 쿠웰 샴프,
0.5% 마라티온(Malathion) 성분이 든 오비드(Ovide,/Malathion성분), 또는 펄메스린(Permethrin) 성분이 든 닉스(Nix),
Trimethoprim/sulfamethoxzole(Bacerim)을 경구 복용Permethrin으로 국소치료를 동시에 하기도 하고,
Ivermectin이나 Stromectol(출처; Infectious disease in children, October 2009. p.10).
Pyrethrin 제
Benzyl 알코올 로숀
Spinosad 현탁액
이 감염증 치료 약물들 중 한 가지를 선택해 치료한다.
