병원체, 병원균, 병원성 균은 동의어이다.
박테리아, 바이러스, 또는 다른 종류의 병원성 균이 사람에게 감염된 후 병원성 균 감염으로 생긴 감염병으로 증상 징후가 생기지도 않고 증상 징후가 나타나지도 않으나 그 병원체를 체내에 지니고 있는 상태를 보균이라 하고 보균을 한 사람을 보균자라 한다.
어떤 병원체의 감염으로 인해 감염병이 발병된 후 그 감염병을 앓고 완전히 완치된 후에도 그 병원체를 체내에 계속 지니고 있는 상태도 보균이라고 할 수 있다.
또는 그 감염병이 완전히 치료되지 않고 감염병이 만성 상태로 된 후 감염병을 일으킨 병원체가 체내에 계속 남아 있는 상태도 보균이라 한다.
이때도 병원체를 보균하고 있는 사람을 보균자라 한다.
어떤 병원체를 체내 계속 보균하고 있는 보균자는 병원체를 다른 사람들에게 전파 해 감염시킬 수 있다.
보균자의 체내에 있는 병원체가 다른 사람에게 감염되면 그 사람이 그 병원체 감염으로 인해 감염병에 걸릴 수 있고 잠복 감염이 생길 수 있고 보균자가 될 수 있다.
보균자가 보균한 병원체를 또 다른 사람들에게 감염시켜 그 사람들이 감염병을 앓게 되든지, 아니면 병원체 보균자가 되든지, 또 잠복 감염 현상이 생길 수 있다.
그 보균자가 또다시 그 병원체를 또 다른 사람들에게 전파시킬 수 있다.
이렇게 보균자들이 자기 자신들 이외 다른 사람들에게 병원체를 감염시킬 수 있는 감염병 근원이 될 수 있다.

Carrier of pathogenic organisms

• Pathogen, pathogen and pathogen are synonyms

. • An infectious disease caused by a pathogenic bacterial infection after infection by bacteria, viruses, or other pathogenic bacteria in humans. People are called carriers.

• Carrier is also a condition in which an infectious disease develops due to infection with a certain pathogen, and the pathogen continues to remain in the body even after the infection is completely cured.

• Or, after the infectious disease has not been completely cured and the infectious disease has become chronic, the condition in which the pathogen causing the infectious disease continues to remain in the body is also called carrier.

• Even at this time, a person carrying the pathogen is called a carrier.

• Carriers who continue to carry a pathogen in their body can spread the pathogen to others and infect it.

• When a pathogen in a carrier’s body infects another person, the person can contract an infectious disease due to infection with that pathogen, develop a latent infection, and become a carrier.

• Whether a carrier infects other people with a pathogen carried by the carrier, the person becomes ill or becomes a carrier of the pathogen, or latent infection can occur. • The carrier can again spread the pathogen to others.

• In this way, carriers can be a source of infectious diseases that can infect others other than themselves.
